Hello! I hope wherever you are today that Spring is not far away. John and I just got back from a much-needed getaway to Vegas. While I love what the dry air and sauna treatments do for my skin there, I find that it’s hard to stay on track with my diet in the land of the all-you-can-eat-buffet! (ahem!) What happens in Vegas apparently does NOT stay in Vegas, because I’m feeling (and looking) a bit worse for wear this morning.


So first thing this morning, I decided to get back on track with this smoothie. It has blueberries and spinach for antioxidants, but an added kick with some sweet Clementines!


I added in a little power boost in the form of Maca powder. If you’d never tried this in your smoothies, I highly recommend it. Maca is an ancient root vegetable from Peru. It’s a potent, ancient superfood highly prized by Incan warriors to increase stamina, boost libido, and combat fatigue. Also if you suffer from adrenal fatigue, Maca root, when used consistently, has the power to nourish and stimulate the hypothalamus and the pituitary glands which in turn brings balance to the adrenal glands.

  1. Put all ingredients into a blender and pulse on high until combined.
  2. Add more almond milk, water or ice to your desired texture.
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy! Your energy level will soar.
  4. Any leftovers will keep for a day or two in the fridge.
